It's my favourite and it's the first Beatles song I ever heard, and I can't tell you how glad I am that I did hear it. Lydia from Surrey, BcWhenever I sing along with this song, I always say "In my life, I've loved you more", the first reason is that ever since I was young I thought those were the lyrics and I only just recently found that they were not, and the second is that it is just more appropriate with all of my life's situations that this could go for. It's a shame that it's so often forgotten. One of John's best (though it wasn't all written by John, he had a bit of help from Paul), side to side with songs such as Imagine. Julia from Rio De Janeiro, BrazilThis is one of my favourite Beatlesongs.Isn't that AMAZING as we all are Pisces!!!! The DJ said this morning it was Johnny Cash's favourite Beatles songĪlso I see on this page that George Harrison rated it as one his favourite songs I told my four kids years ago to play it at my funeral Peter from Hamilton, New ZealandThis is my favourite song Full Stop.George from Belleville, NjConsidered by many to be the greatest song ever written. It certainly is one of the greatest songs anyway you look at it.Lyrically and musically it is hard to beat. The music is so melodic, like classical pop,the lyrics are so meaningful like poetry. This is what the art of songwriting is about.I don't remember the exact title, but it was something like "Got to get you Into My Life", not the same song as In My Life. Susan from Hartland, VtI'm not sure, but I think the wrong lyrics are posted.(Sorry, Ringo, but you just haven't recorded anything that significant to me.) Debbie from Fairmont Wv, WvNot to sound maudlin or morbid, but if I had my way, I would like three Beatles songs played at my funeral service: In My Life, The Inner Light and Let It Be, probably in that order. Olivia from Philadelphia, PaThis song is so emotinal I wanna' cry every time I hear it!.what john is basically saying is i have loved a lot of people in my life, and i'll never forget them all, but above all, our friendship has meant more then any love i have ever had. but when you think about it in those terms, to me, the song is even more moving poignant then if it wee about a love of a woman. i was blown away by this fact, thinking this song had to be about a love of a woman in john's life. Ron from Santa Barbara, Cai read somewhere that john said the lyrics in the song referred to his friendship with his childhood best friend pete shotton.Kieran from Brisbane, AustraliaLove the piano break in the middle.Whenever & wherever her friends and I see these words on pillows, in postings, and even on a license plate (shortened) on the car in front of me I can't help but think of our discussion about this song. I was the older one & I remember loving her longer. She would end our "love you" conversations with "Love You More." I would tell her that this was not possible. She was deeply sensitive (in spite of often being a "badass) and committed to her friends and her life. Her friends were so very important to her. Born one year before it was written, it was not because it was popular in "her generation." However, this song was all about who she was. Bonnie from Louisville, KyMy little sister and I discussed favorite songs once and this was hers.Patrick from Bedford, TxHands down the best Byrds song.Jennifur Sun from RamonaLove the opening guitar, very pretty. At that age, to grasp such a comprehensive, insightful, touching view of love and life, then refine it and set it lyrically into motion implies great genius. What is stunning is that John was only 24 when he wrote “In My Life”. Camille from Toronto, OhThis is certainly my favorite Beatles song.Jay from Abington, Ma.It was the first song I danced with my daughter on her wedding.Loved Sean all my life and this song is the best. Gill from WalsallLove Sean Connery’s version, it will be played at my funeral.
